There are many spectacular drives you can manage from your Palm Cove base.  You can travel west into the deep outback, inland travelling from waterfall to waterfall, or visit some of the regions most spectacular rainforests around Mission Beach or in the Daintree.

All of the itineraries listed below are accessible with a vehicle from Palm Cove Car Hire.

As much as I would like to rent you a vehicle for a trip to the Daintree, my recommendation is you visit with a day tour.  There is so much information available about this complex ecosystem, there is no way reading interpretive signs in a visitor’s centre will ever do the destination justice. Your travel agent can help you book an excellent tour or we can provide a private day tour.

All of the information supplied on this page has been lifted from https://drivenorthqueensland.com.au/.

There is a wealth of information available there about every facet of your North Queensland holiday.

The Waterfall Circuit Itinerary

Tropical North Queensland’s annual wet season produces a spectacular side effect. All that rain trickles into creeks and rivers, some of which spills spectacularly over the jagged landscape into waterholes and rock pools.  The Waterfall Circuit Itinerary

Port Douglas to Daintree and Cape Tribulation

If you can tear yourself away from your book and beverage by the pool, there is a daytrip to Cape Tribulation with your name on it.  Even if you never leave the comfort of your car, the scenery is worth the drive through this world heritage area. Palm Cove to Daintree and Cape Tribulation

Cairns to Etty Bay

Swapping Cairns for the CAssowary Coast takes aboput 90 minutes from Palm Cove. This is a journey well worth devoting an entire day to.  You can frolic in the waters of Babinda Boulders, or slide down the smooth rockslide of  Josephine Falls. If you feel  like more of a hike, head to Behana Gorge and take the 45 (uphill) minute walk to the Clamshell Falls.
